Project Value: £6m
Refurbishment of existing listed seven storey property in St James, London. Previously occupied by a bank, the whole property was stripped back to the original decorative features which had been covered by Tenant fit out. The banking hall was converted into restaurant space through the removal of the existing vaults whilst the upper storeys refurbished back into Grade A office space with exposed soffits expressing the original cornice detailing. The original 1980’s lift was removed and replaced with a bespoke feature glass lift installed between the listed marble clad staircase. New riser space was created throughout the property and a new roof top plant area enabling the refurbishment to be achieved. The secondary staircase was removed and infilled to gain back NIA throughout the building. Project shortlisted for the Architect’s Journal Retro-Fit Awards.
