Description
Acies carried out the design of the steelwork superstructure for the new wing production facility at Broughton near Chester.
As part of the European Consortium developing the new long haul aircraft known as the A380 which holds approximately 600 passengers. BAe Systems commissioned the construction of a new production facility to manufacture the wing span members of the new aircraft.
The Facility required approximately 600,00sqft of covered space with a clear eaves height of 30cm and clear internal spans of 76m and 60m respectively.
The total steelwork package equated to 9,700 tonnes.
