Acies Expands Into Europe With New Retail Scheme

Acies has been appointed as the civil and structural engineers for the £8million redevelopment and reconfiguration of a large retail scheme in Herten, Germany.

Acting on behalf of Hutley Investments Ltd, the UK based property development company, Acies has been instructed to provide the civil and structural engineering and design work for the development of a 31,000 sq ft extension at Herten Forum shopping centre.

Herten Forum, an 53,000 sq ft shopping and leisure centre will undergo an extension at the side of the centre and the refurbishment and reconfiguration of both the ground and first floor.

Principal planning approval for the scheme has just been granted and work is due to start on site in 2009. The redevelopment will take approximately 12 months to complete and will see Germany’s largest food retailer Edeka, move into the shopping centre’s main building as its flagship store.
