Over the years, Acies has worked on all shapes and sizes of classroom on education projects throughout the UK. When we were asked to get involved with the Fastest Classroom on Earth, it seemed like a natural fit, and a brilliant opportunity to support an initiative that brings a truly innovative approach to mentoring young people with special education and behavioural needs.
Our fellow consultant, Roger Tilbrook of PSK’s Yorkshire office, will be participating in the ‘Fastest Classroom’ as it takes to the road, cycling round Mont Blanc, a 350km classic of long distance road bike challenges. With nine major climbs, many of which will have featured in the Tour de France mountain stages, and close to 9,000 metres of ascending, participants will be expected to work closely as a team and be both mentally and physically prepared.
The expedition team will include 20 students from Years 9, 10 and 11 who will attempt to cycle the course travelling through Switzerland, Italy and France in just four days during the last week in September 2014.
Acies is proud to support this fantastic expedition, and wishes every success to the team of students and mentors as they undertake the challenge of a lifetime.
