Description
The project entailed major structural alterations to the existing retail unit to raise the middle section of roof to provide additional volume for the new mezzanine level to increase trading space for the incoming tenant. The alterations works to the roof were designed and constructed without the need for any temporary propping and whilst the neighbouring retail unit was in occupation. New mini-piled foundations were installed to the unit to minimise the works required to the existing structure. The project also included the refurbishment of the unit including the installation of a new glazed facade and new roof over cladding to improve the buildings appears and thermal performance.
