Description
Acies completed a commission for Spanish based Clothing Retailer ZARA. Following the flotation of the group on the European Stock Exchange (6.5 Billion Euros) ZARA commenced upon a rapid expansion of its retail presence in the UK.
Acies were therefore pleased to assist ZARA in the reconfiguration of existing Grade 2* listed retail premises on Northgate Street in Chester. The building is listed due to its significant Victorian Heritage; the ceiling at first floor is barrel vaulted and is preserved as part of the listed building consent.
The site was also founded on the old Roman Headquarters and was therefore of important archaeological interest, requiring the employment of a geophysicist to determine if any important remains were buried beneath the floor and an Archaeological team to dig the pits & record any features uncovered.
